Glass was cast into the bottom half of a bonded sand mold, then the inclusion was pressed in (indents on the surface of the inclusion formed the mirrorlike flat top bubbles). The second half of the mold was placed on, and the remainder of the glass was poured in through an opening in the top. The whole thing was polished before the hand was cast around the finished glass.
